Welcome to the Silver Coast of Portugal and more particularly to the Villa Janelas da Varzea which can be found nestling amongst the pine woods just inland from the beautiful little seaside resort of Saint Martinho do Porto.
Our villa is set in a small private development of just 5 individually owned villas. This complex is ideal for families as it is walled and gated. It is located along a quiet country lane on the edge of Alfeizerao and provides a tranquil setting for your holiday. The area is predominantly agricultural and along the lane that leads to the house you will find apple orchards, stables, fields and a woodland area mainly of tall pines which forms a screen across the end of the garden and pool. The sun rises over the distant hills and by 10:00am it is shining on the back garden and pool, setting behind the pine trees in the evening.
The house has been built and furnished to a very high standard. The vaulted ceiling in the main living room gives a spacious, airy feel to the whole house. All the beds are extremely comfortable with two bedrooms upstairs, a double and a twin bedded, as well as a luxury fitted bathroom. Downstairs there is a third double bedroom and a smaller bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The kitchen is beautifully appointed with large fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, touch control ceramic hob and oven. There is plenty of crockery, both china and also plastic for use outside around the pool area - much safer!
In the sitting room there is a plasma screen tv with Freeview, and a dvd player. We have also provided a growing library of paperbacks, games, dvds and cds for your enjoyment. The house is fitted with electrically operated blinds throughout. These help to keep the house cool in the summer months and, of course, secure.
If you are visiting during the winter months there is a wonderful fitted fireplace in the sitting room where we burn pine cones and wood. It blows warm air up into the room and heats the whole house. There are also moveable oil-filled radiators throughout the house just to take the chill off during the cooler evenings.
The pool is 8m x 4.5m and is 1.8m at its deepest point with roman steps at the 1m shallow end. It sits in a large, tiled landscaped garden with plenty of sunbathing and play space. Sun loungers and patio furniture are provided along with a Portuguese-style brick built barbecue for al fresco dining. A solar cover is fitted to the pool which keeps it clean and warm and is easily rolled up.
